About Tim in general 🙂
I was born and raised in Glenview, IL, just north of Chicago. I studied illustration at Syracuse University, where I received a BFA in 2000. After graduating, I moved to New York City. There, I received training in the Russian academic tradition at Bridgeview School of Fine Arts. I also studied drawing and painting at the Art Students League of New York. There I studied with Mary Beth McKenzie, Michael Grimaldi, Leonid Gervits, Jack Faragasso, and Costa Vavagiakis. I also studied portraiture with Marvin Mattelson at SVA. In 2006, I spent a month studying the The Repin Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. I recently completed the Drawing Year at Grand Central Atelier in NYC.
I currently live in Pelham, NY with my wife, two children, and one old cat.
